Kay Seedig was born in Tennessee and grew up transiently on various U.S. Army housing across the Southeastern United States, and for three brief years in Darmstadt, Germany. After settling in North Carolina, they earned a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 2014. Seedig transplanted to Denton, Texas and earned an M.F.A. in Studio Art with an emphasis in Printmaking from the University of North Texas in 2017. They held a position as a Visual Arts Technician at UNT in the Foundations Program and was a Lead Instructor for Art 1600: Perception & Translation. Seedig is now the manager of the Art Galleries at TCU and manages the daily operations at Moudy Gallery and Fort Worth Contemporary Arts and contributes to 15-17 diverse exhibitions each year. Seedig's work has been featured in several publications including , Patron MagazineGlasstire, Vol. 1 of Third Space DFW, and Voyage Dallas Magazine. They have had solo exhibitions at IAO Gallery in Oklahoma City, Petshop Gallery in Omaha, and 500X Gallery in Dallas. Their work has been exhibited at the Latino Cultural Center in Dallas, 117 Gallery Ann Arbor Art Center, in Michgan, and the Parks Exhibition Center in Idyllwild, CA. Driven by their collaborative spirit, Seedig is a former member and Vice President of 500X Gallery, Texas’ oldest artist-run cooperative gallery they served as an Interim Board Member of the Radical Intersectional Printmakers Guild; and they were invited to Frogman’s Print Workshops and Pilchuck Glass School as a workshop assistant/coordinator. They continue to serve on various selection committees for arts organizations and teach at various universities and museums in the DFW Metroplex. Most recently, Seedig made their curatorial debut at Arts Fort Worth in 2023 with Lost, Sought, Found, an exhibition featuring five emerging North Texas-based artists that was featured in a Glasstire article.
